The design brief
focused on creating the user interface for the mobile version of a vintage clothing sales app. The goal was to get it ready for developer handoff. My task included introducing new key features, designing the interface, and redefining the app's UI direction and branding to suit the target audience aged 25–34. I also conducted a competitor analysis to understand the market and identify opportunities. Additionally, research was carried out to define extra functionalities for the app.
Upon opening the app, users are seamlessly introduced to its features through a guided onboarding
experience. These screens convey the platform’s mission to 're:wear, re:use, and re:cycle'.
The design
embraces a minimalist approach, featuring a calming color palette that reflects eco-consciousness and sustainability. A lemony green serves as an accent, adding a fresh and vibrant touch to the overall aesthetic. This cohesive design is inspired by a thoughtfully curated moodboard that combines harmonious colors, evocative imagery, and clean typography to capture the app’s essence and create an inviting user experience.
Given that the selling process is one of the main user flows
, I focused on streamlining it and making it as smooth and intuitive as possible. The process is broken down into four steps, asking only for the essential information. Throughout, users can always see their progress thanks to a simple progress bar that keeps them on track.
The app centers around the search functionality, which led to a strong emphasis on designing a search user flow that enables effective filtering to deliver the most relevant results. Users can tailor their search experience by applying filters such as size, style, brand, or price range, ensuring a seamless and efficient way to find exactly what they’re looking for.
This focus on search was driven by user research, which revealed that a significant pain point in similar apps was the difficulty of locating specific items within a vast inventory. By prioritizing an intuitive and powerful search system, the app enhances usability and empowers users to easily navigate through preloved fashion options.
